Our Post is a champion for Youth Leadership, Community Involvement, and Veteran Support.
Our Youth programs include Boys State, Girls State, American Legion Baseball, Patriotic Essay, and we are launching a Sons of the American Legion chapter for our Post. On Community Involvement, we led on the Penfield Wall of Honor which recognizes each of our local citizens that are currently serving on Active Duty. We also help in Town Parades, maintaining Flags and conducting ceremonies at local cemeteries, have six members who serve on the Monroe County Honor Guard for final Honors. The Toys for Tots and the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign are also some of the ways our Post continues to serve. Earlier this year, the Rochester Salvation Army awarded our Post with “The Bell” for being the top group to help them meet their 2025 Red Kettle Campaign!
Our Penfield Post has been recognized as the most active, growing, and involved American Legion Posts in Upstate New York. We are honored to be cited as the Best Post in this Region, which includes 8 counties and over 80 Posts. Our “little” Penfield American Legion Post is fun, active, and very proud of the service we continue to give!
With our Poppies, Flags, other Fundraising and donations, our Penfield Post provided support and donated about $15,000 to help local Veterans and Support Groups.
